Network Rail submit TAWS application for Queen Street
On Friday 11th September, Network Rail submitted its TAWS order application to Scottish Ministers to acquire the powers needed to take forward the redevelopment of Glasgow's Queen Street Station.
A public inquiry in relation to the application will be held in May

Work is now underway to install electrifcation apparatus across a series of historic viaducts on the main Edinburgh Glasgow line. This includes the historic Castelcary viaduct over the busy M80 and is part of the wider electrification of Central Scotland's railways

Network Rail has re-opened Drumgrew Road following the completion of an eight month, reconstruction of the railway bridge. A section of the B8048, which runs between Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch, had been closed since 3rd August, 2015, to enable the completion of the £2m bridge.
Drumgrew Bridge OpenPhipstoun and Park Farm bridges open
Roads at both Park Farm and Old Philpstoun in West Lothian have re-opened following a five month closure to demolish and reconstruct bridges over railway.
In the case of Park Farm, this was some 6 weeks earlier than planned as we re-phased the work at both structures so we could open at the same time and reduce the overall impact of the road closures in this rural community.
West Lothian bridges openWe will be undertaking electrification work in Polmont station from 2nd April. We are aware of memorial plaque & garden and work will be carried out sensitively and considerately. The garden will be fully reinstated when electrification work is complete.
Platform renewal work is ongoing at Bishopbriggs Station. We hope you are not inconvenienced by this.
EGIP Project Overview
The Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP) is a comprehensive package of improvements to Scotland's railway infrastructure. A Scottish Government priority, the £742m EGIP is being delivered by Network Rail and includes modernisation and upgrades to key junctions and infrastructure as well as widespread electrification of the Scottish rail network, including the main line between Edinburgh and Glasgow and to Stirling and Dunblane.
