Queen Street TAWS application submitted
On Friday 11th September 2015, Network Rail submitted a Transport & Works Scotland (TAWS) Order application to Scottish Ministers to acquire the powers to redevelop Glasgow’s Queen Street station
Following on from the 2 phases of consultation in 2014 on the proposals for the redevelopment of the key City station, Network Rail has now submitted the application to Scottish Ministers which if granted, will provide enabling powers we need to compulsorily purchase property needed to expand and fully redevelop the site. Properties covered under the order would include the Millennium Hotel extension and Consort House.
The land these properties stand on is needed to extend the platforms, enlarge the concourse, improve accessibility and modernise the station frontage.
In line with the legal requirements around submitting a TAWS order application, Network Rail has made the information contained in this application available to the wider public here http://bit.ly/1KclQ6W
